Description

Very cute beach house, centrally located close to everything in town: restaurants, bars, Malecon, banks and of course right on the beach!

The Neighborhood

This is a row of beach houses called “Villas Mirador” and this area is called “Mirador”. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance; a beach bar called “La Pitaya” is also close. Mirador is one of the oldest developed areas in Rocky Point, second only to “The Old Port”.  The beach is Rocky on low tide (hence the name Rocky Point). You will be able to swim a lot better on high tide, on low tide go “tide pooling”. Tides are more exteme during full moon and new moon, plan your beach activities with a ride chart.

Look at the pools of water to find crabs, hermit crabs, and other sea creatures. If you turn over some rocks you may find sea stars and one called a “brittle star” as well as mini sea urchins etc.   You can’t find tide pools on sandy beaches!

In the winter the Rocks near “Whale hill”, which is very close, are a sanctuary for many types of sea birds.

Getting around

Most people drive here but taxis are cheap as long as you go anywhere in town. Local rides are about $3US. Going to Sandy beach and Mayan Palace will be quite a bit more.
